Treatment of varicose veins without pain and incisions

  • Outpatient care without large incisions — under local anaesthesia or medication-induced sleep. Your doctor selects the anaesthesia after assessment.
  • Around 30–90 minutes — procedure time depends on the method and treatment area. You leave once the team has assessed your condition.
  • No stitches or scars – return to work without weeks of sick leave.

Without fear

What has held you back for years is no longer the obstacle it once was

Most patients delay treatment because of three fears. Here are honest answers to each.
Concern

"What if it hurts?"

The reality
Your doctor selects local anaesthesia or medication-induced sleep. A Nouvag pump is used for tumescent anaesthesia; preparation and possible sensations are discussed before treatment.
Individual anaesthesia plan
Concern

"Is this a major surgery with scars?"

The reality
Minimally invasive treatment uses small punctures under ultrasound guidance. After assessment, your doctor explains the treatment method, anaesthesia and possible marks from the procedure.
Puncture 1–2 mm
Concern

Will I be out of action for weeks?

The reality
Patients usually return home the same day after their condition is assessed. Returning to work and physical activity depends on the procedure and the doctor’s advice.

Problems

Conditions patients seek help with

Recognise your symptoms? The earlier you seek advice, the simpler treatment is likely to be; at an early stage, one or two visits may be enough.
→

Varicose veins

Bulging tortuous veins, heaviness, swelling and fatigue in the legs in the evening. The most common venous disease that gradually progresses without treatment.
→

Spider veins

Fine red or blue spider veins on the legs are usually a cosmetic concern, but sometimes indicate deeper changes in the veins.
→

Venous leg ulcers

Persistent lower-leg wounds can be a complication of advanced varicose veins. Treatment must address impaired venous drainage, not only the wound itself.

Methods

Modern varicose vein treatments

There is no single treatment that suits everyone. Alexandru Tatarin selects an option after an ultrasound assessment, taking into account the stage of the condition, vein anatomy and your lifestyle.
The gold standard

Endovenous laser ablation (EVLA)

A 1940 nm laser closes the affected vein from within using a thin single-use fibre. Treatment is performed through a puncture under ultrasound guidance.
from 36,000 UAH
The most comfortable

Radiofrequency ablation (RFA)

A Medtronic ClosureFast catheter closes the vein with controlled radiofrequency heat, segment by segment, while monitoring temperature and tissue resistance.
from 40,000 UAH
No compression stockings

VenaSeal medical adhesive closure

VenaSeal closes the vein with medical adhesive rather than heat. Local anaesthesia is needed only at the catheter entry site, not along the entire vein.
Based on the assessment
Aesthetics

Sclerotherapy

A fine needle delivers a sclerosant solution that closes spider veins and small veins. They gradually fade. Ultrasound guidance is used when indicated.
from 6,000 UAH
No stitches

Miniphlebectomy

Large varicose tributaries are removed through 1–2 mm needle punctures using a specialised hook. The punctures do not require stitches and usually heal with minimal visible marks.

Choose one service from the price list. You may add a separate consultation with ultrasound. This is a planning guide, not a treatment recommendation.

Ultrasound-guided closure of the main vein with a Lasotronix Smart 1940 nm laser and a radial fiber. The doctor confirms the treatment plan after examination.

How treatment works

From your first visit to healthier legs

01

Consultation

A discussion of your symptoms, a clinical examination and answers to your questions.
02

Ultrasound assessment

Duplex vein ultrasound on GE LOGIQ e. The consultation and ultrasound together usually take around 20 minutes; the time varies with individual circumstances.
03

Procedure · 30–90 min

Minimally invasive treatment under local anaesthesia or medication-induced sleep. The doctor selects the anaesthesia individually; procedure time depends on the method and treatment area.

Home in about 30 min

You can usually leave around 30 minutes after the procedure, once the team has assessed your condition. Observation may take longer when medication-induced sleep is used.

Question

Frequently asked questions

Local anaesthesia or medication-induced sleep is used to reduce pain. Your doctor chooses the option individually after assessment and discusses preparation and possible sensations before the procedure.
A procedure takes around 30–90 minutes, depending on the method and treatment area. You can usually leave around 30 minutes afterwards once the team has assessed your condition; medication-induced sleep may require longer observation.
Yes. Modern treatments such as laser ablation, RFA and VenaSeal have no seasonal restrictions. The doctor will choose the treatment and compression regimen with hot weather in mind.
No. Laser ablation, RFA and VenaSeal are performed through 1-2 mm needle punctures without incisions, so they leave virtually no marks. After sclerotherapy, spider veins gradually fade without leaving a trace.
The treated vein is closed permanently. A thorough assessment and following the doctor's recommendations help reduce the risk of new affected veins developing. We discuss this during the consultation.
It depends on the treatment. After EVLA and RFA, compression stockings are usually worn for several days or weeks. After VenaSeal, they are often not required at all. The doctor will give you individual recommendations.
A medical leave certificate can be issued if needed. However, most patients return to office work the next day.
